The short answer
The four City garages are free if you leave within the first hour, then $2 for the first hour and $2 for each extra hour, with a $15 daily maximum. Street meters are $2.50 an hour with a 2-hour limit, paid 8 AM to 6 PM Monday to Saturday, and free on Sundays and City holidays.

Four City garages, open 24/7Biltmore Avenue Garage (61 S Lexington Ave, 7 ft 0 in clearance), Harrah's Cherokee Center Garage (68 Rankin Ave, 6 ft 5 in), Rankin Avenue Garage (12 Rankin Ave, 7 ft 4 in) and Wall Street Garage (45 Wall St, 7 ft 4 in). Pay by card at the exit lanes or at pedestrian kiosks.

Event parkingA pay-on-entry fee during special events: $12 at the Harrah's Cherokee Center, Rankin Avenue and Wall Street garages during events at Harrah's Cherokee Center and Thomas Wolfe Auditorium, and $10 for other events.

How to pay a meterQuarters, dimes, nickels or a card at the meter, the Flowbird app, or text to pay: text Z plus the two-digit zone number (on a sticker on the back of the meter) to 727563.

Free evening and weekend lotsValley Street lot (55 Valley St) and Marjorie Street lot (17 Marjorie St): free Monday to Friday 5 PM to 7 AM and all day Saturday and Sunday. Cars must be moved out 7 AM to 5 PM on weekdays.

ADA parkingMarked on-street ADA spaces are free. Placard and plate holders may stay past posted time limits but still pay the meter.
